BOISE, Idaho — A very narrow healthcare related vote passed in the house Thursday.

Lawmakers voted 34 to 33 in favor of a proposal to create a review panel to research maternal deaths in Idaho. The purpose of the panel is to look at why Idaho women die while pregnant or from complications of child birth.

Though Idaho is above the national average for maternal deaths, it's one of the only states without a panel to look at the issue.
