Hunting season in Idaho kicks off Friday

BOISE, Idaho — Hunting season kicks off in Idaho later this week. Archery season for many big game animals opens Friday. Archery elk hunts also open Friday, but dates differ by zone.

Fall black bear, mountain lion and wolf seasons also run with archery seasons. Forest grouse seasons open Friday statewide with closing dates on December 31 or January 31, depending on your hunting zone.

Fall turkey seasons open in parts of the state Friday and September in others.
