Idaho campers urged to make reservations now for next year

Campers urged to make reservations now

If you want to go camping in the Gem State next year, you better book your reservations soon.

Most camping destinations are taking reservations six to nine months in advance, and there are only a few spots left.

The most popular parks are Priest Lake and Farragut State Park in north Idaho, and Ponderosa State Park in McCall.

Officials said nine of 17 parks only have a dozen or so spots remaining.

A popular date for campers next year will be August 21st. That's when a solar eclipse is scheduled to move across the United States, including a direct path right though the middle of Idaho.
