BOISE, Idaho — Face masks are becoming a common sight these days and health officials recommend we all start wearing them, even while at work. This is also true for prison staff and inmates.
Earlier this week, Idaho Department of Corrections (IDOC) officials asked for donations of face masks, but not a lot are coming in. So inmates are starting to make some to help get by and keep everyone safe.
The goal is to make around 30,000 masks. That would provide three masks for every staff member and inmate in the facility.
If you have cotton fabric face masks you would like to donate, there is a drop-off box outside IDOC's main office at 1299 North Orchard in Boise.
