Any driver with a vehicle registration or driver's license set to expire within the next few months will have additional time to get it renewed.
The Idaho Transportation Department announced Thursday anyone with a vehicle registration or license set to expire between September and December 2020 now have until January 31, 2021 to renew. The extension comes in an effort to reduce wait times at county DMV offices.
“People with expiring registrations and licenses don’t need to rush to the DMV. These extensions should give them some relief, help reduce crowd sizes, and also open up appointment windows where available at county offices,” said DMV Administrator Alberto Gonzalez in a statement. “We also encourage Idahoans to renew their registration online, by mail, or use drop boxes at county offices.”
