BOISE, Idaho — The Idaho Foodbank got a huge boost from Albertsons and the Hershey Company Wednesday. Executives from both companies donated a check work $10,000 as part of their Share Goodness: Feed Your Community campaign.
The effort is designed to help struggling families get access to the food they need to thrive and remain healthy. So many more people need the help because of the coronavirus and this donation translates into 50,000 meals.
"We've had a continued partnership with Feeding America, as has Albertsons, so it was kind of a perfect linkage," said James Bode, a sales executive with the Hershey Company. "Both of us are equally trying to again, kind of fight hunger within the United States, but on a local level."
Before the pandemic, the Idaho Foodbank says one in nine Idahoans were food insecure. After the pandemic hit, that number worsened to one in six. If you need help with food, go to the Idaho Foodbank website.
