BOISE, Idaho — First Interstate Bank donated $20,000 to the Idaho Foodbank's Hope for the Holidays program. The donation will help the foodbank distribute extra food during the holidays, including turkeys and roasts for traditional holiday meals.
“We are all feeling the strain and challenges brought on by the pandemic. So, when First Interstate Bank approached us with a donation, we were grateful,” said Karen Vauk, President and CEO of The Idaho Foodbank. “When they chose to double it, we were overjoyed knowing how much these funds will immediately make a difference in the lives of Idahoans struggling with hunger during this holiday season.”
First Interstate Bank says they have donated $45,000 and nearly 100 volunteer hours to the Idaho Foodbank this year.
“We’re so excited to participate in the Be A Light Campaign as supporters of the Idaho Foodbank and are pleased to present our check in the amount of $20,000 to help with holiday meals,” said Lorrie Asker, First Interstate’s Idaho and E. Washington Regional President.
First Interstate employees also collected a pallet full of nonperishable food items for the Idaho Foodbank and dropped them off during the check presentation.
