Idaho gas prices

Posted

AAA says almost 47 million vacationers will hit the roads for the Thanksgiving holiday.. and many will be keeping an eye on gas prices.
After a viewer e-mailed our newsroom -- asking why gas was more than fifty cents cheaper in Twin Falls than here in the Boise area.

We asked AAA Idaho.  Dave Carlson, AAA spokesman explained that  "in Twin Falls and points east, they serve up an 85 octane gasoline which is cheaper to produce. So you can see cheaper prices as a rule any point east basically of about Twin Falls into the higher elevations of eastern Idaho. Cheaper gas runs well in cars, but it's a little cheaper for the retailers."  The average price for regular gas is around $2.20 a gallon ... That's about one dollar less than what we were paying this time last year.
