BOISE, Idaho — The Super Bowl is coming up this weekend and the Idaho Humane Society (IHS) is participating in the Kitten Bowl. The nationwide event stars adoptable cats and kittens with dogs and puppies cheering them on from the sidelines.

The Idaho Humane Society partnered with North Shore Animal League America, along with 500 other shelters across the country, to celebrate the Hallmark Channel's Kitten Bowl VII game with a Kitten Bowl party event. Adoptable cat-letes compete in a gridiron game and showcases senior and special needs cats. The event airs Saturday, February 1 at 8 p.m. mountain time.

To date, Kitten Bowl is the greatest feline football showdown in cable television history and has resulted in over 10,000 adoptions.

IHS has filled the Cattery with kittens and cats to help local families find the perfect forever friend. The Cattery will be open February 1 through 3 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and February 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cats over one year old are just $25 to adopt this weekend.
