TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) -- A refugee resettlement program in Twin Falls is facing opposition amid the national debate over the vetting of refugees fleeing war-torn Syria and more recently in the wake of the deadly attacks in San Bernardino, California, and Paris.
They fear that the refugees who would come to the region would be radicalized Muslims.
The U.S. State Department has said the refugees coming to the United States would be spread across the country and go through multiple layers of vetting.
Zeze Rwasama, director of the refugee program at the College of Southern Idaho, says the opposition is waning while support is at an all-time high.
Meanwhile, Rick Martin counters that he'll gather enough signatures for a ballot initiative that would force the center to close.
