The Idaho Stampede is on its way out of Boise, after an announcement from the Utah Jazz Monday morning.

The Utah Jazz is relocating their D-League team to Salt Lake City. The former Stampede will now be known as the Utah Stars and will play their games at Salt Lake Community College starting next season.

“Last March, we purchased the Boise-based team to become full owners and operators of the D-League Franchise," Steve Starks of Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment explained. "Incorporating our business functions and basketball operations had the geographic and operational advantages of bringing our D-League affiliate in close proximity to the Jazz."
