PAYETTE, Idaho — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal two-vehicle head-on crash north of Payette. The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of U.S. 95 and NE 21st Avenue.
Susan Griffin, of Payette, was driving north on a U.S. 95 in a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country minivan. Richard Young 33, of Council was driving south on U.S. 95 in a 2020 Peterbuilt semi-tractor hauling two trailers of lumber.
Police say the vehicles hit head-on near milepost 72. Griffin was pronounced dead at the scene and she was not wearing a seatbelt. Young was not hurt and he was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
