A Washington man was arrested after a high-speed chase on I-84 on Friday afternoon.
The incident began around 12:15 p.m. near the Stage Stop east of Boise, according to Idaho State Police public information officer Teresa Baker. Officers stopped the male driver near milepost 52. Baker says the driver then fled the scene, heading west.
The driver lead officers on a high-speed pursuit through the Treasure Valley on I-84, until officers were able to force the vehicle to a stop near milepost 27 by using spike strips.
The vehicle was facing the opposite direction on I-84 over the Boise River when Idaho On Your Side crews arrived on scene.
Traffic was reduced to one lane temporarily which caused an accident, but so far, no injuries have been reported.
The driver was identified as Joshua McNair, 33, of Spokane Valley, Washington. McNair was booked into Canyon County Jail for Felony Eluding and is still under investigation for Driving Under the Influence.
