The journalists of the Idaho Statesman announced their plan to form a union Monday.
The news comes after the paper's parent company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The paper has asked their parent company, McClatchy, to voluntarily recognize the union. If they do so, the paper says they will join other McClatchy unionized papers.
The union has unanimous support from the paper's 16 eligible members, the Idaho Statesman said.
Thus far, our union has unanimous support from our 16 eligible members. Each of us signed our mission statement, which we delivered to our publisher today. pic.twitter.com/6cmQlq8Xzd
