The Idaho Supreme Court has upheld the murder conviction of a man prosecutors say killed his wife's boyfriend in a Meridian parking lot.

The Supreme Court on Tuesday affirmed an Ada County jury's 2012 conviction of Rob Hall.

Prosecutors say Hall fatally shot his wife's boyfriend, Emmett Corrigan, outside a Walgreens store in 2011, then unsuccessfully tried to shoot himself in the head. He was sentenced to thirty years in prison with eligibility for parole after 17 1/2 years.

Hall appealed the original trial, saying the judge didn't properly instruct the jury on his justifiable homicide defense and erroneously excluded Corrigan's Facebook statements and admitted testimony about Hall's concealed weapon class.

The appeals court upheld the conviction.
