JEROME, Idaho (AP) -- Police say two teenagers are in custody after one of them fired three shots when a man confronted them as they dumped garbage onto his south-central Idaho property.

Jerome County Sheriff Doug McFall says the man wasn't injured after going to confront three people Sunday evening dumping junk onto his property northeast of Jerome.

The man called police with a description of a white SUV pulling a utility trailer.

McFall tells The Times-News that police spotted the vehicle that stopped after a short pursuit.

Police say a 17-year-old was taken into custody on suspicion of aggravated assault and minor in possession of a firearm.

Police say a 15-year-old driving without privileges and who tried to elude officers is also in custody.

McFall says a man with them was released.
