New Idaho unemployment claims rose this week, according to the Idaho Department of Labor.
The Idaho Department of Labor reported a 3 percent increase in initial unemployment claims over the prior week. A total increase of 118 new claims for unemployment insurance benefits were reported, totaling of 3,804 new claims for the week of Sept. 5.
The four-week moving average for new claims also increased by 4 percent to 3,732, according to the Idaho Department of Labor (IDL).
While new claims increased slightly, the number of people who requested continued benefits, or continued claims, dropped by 10 percent from the prior week to 13,021 -- the 18th consecutive week of declines, the IDL reports.
