Idaho Veterans were able to enjoy a little early summer fishing on June 7th, 2016 in Caldwell.

Twice a year, a Caldwell couple opens their property and fishing pond to honor veterans with a big chili feed and a day of casting.

"We have all kinds of fish in the pond. We've got catfish, sturgeons, even. And some just seeing the look on their faces and getting away from the burdens from being at their VA Home or Hospital, and seeing the smiles on their faces, is ample reward," event organizer Jeanie Meholchick said.

Service members from the Idaho Air National Guard, the Air Force and Marines turned out for the event.
