TSA officials say Idaho is among the most pet-loving states in the U.S..

They also say the best way to travel with pets is to follow a few simple tips:

1. Put your animal in a carrier.

2. Put a leash on the animal as the animal will have to exit the carrier in order to be inspected by security.

3. The animal and owner are not separated during the security screening in order to reduce anxiety for the animal.

Visit the TSA pet travel page for more information.

The small dog featured in the story is Mindy, a 7 week old Chihuahua / Beagle mix up for adoption at theIdaho Humane Society.  To adopt Mindy or another animal email outreach@idahohumanesociety.com.
