Whittier Elementary School is hosting a meeting tonight Wednesday, August 31 at 6pm at 1609 Owyhee Street, to determine how to address the possibility that it may have an inventory of old school buildings that may be too costly to repair.

A state-sponsored study by Dejong Richter, an Ohio-based planning business that is conducting its second detailed assessment of the Boise school district in a decade.

The public got a look at the report at Cynthia Mann Elmentary School on Tuesday evening.

A key reason, says Tracy Richter, an owner of the firm that did the study, is that between 2008 and 2013, is a decline of parents having children.

More to come. Stay with this story here for updates.
