ITD warns motorists to look out for...

Posted

The Idaho Transportation Department wants drivers to be aware of workers in construction zones.

With warmer temps, road crews will be out in force. ITD says almost every crew member has had a close encounter with cars straying out of safe zones. The number one culprit: texting and driving.

"We move lanes, we divert traffic, and we join lanes that didn't used to join,” said Dan Bryant, a maintenance coordinator for ITD. “If a person isn't right at the top of their attention they may miss some of that and if they miss it the chance of an accident is very great."

Bottom line, ITD says when you're driving, just drive. Don't let yourself get distracted.
