The Elko County Sheriff's Office says a Jerome farm hand has been arrested on suspicion of murder -– and led deputies to the spot where he allegedly buried the head of 34-year-old Carmen Magallanes-Sanchez of Ryndon.

It was about a mile from where a hunter came across the decapitated body Sept. 4 about 30 miles north of Elko.

Detectives did not disclose the decapitation when they asked for the public's help in identifying the victim, whose body was found in a shallow grave in the high desert.

Lt. Kevin McKinney told The Associated Press authorities kept some of the details secret so they wouldn't compromise the investigation. He says formal charges are pending against Jose Segundo-Huizar of Jerome, Idaho.

He's being held in the Elko County Jail without bail.
