A state judge has sentenced a Nampa man to 12 years in prison for stabbing his business partner in 2015.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that 44-year-old Raymond "Sean" Strickland pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after police said he stabbed a 45-year-old man in the heart.
Third District Judge Christopher Nye ruled earlier this week that Strickland could be eligible for parole after serving four years of his sentence.
According to law enforcement officials, the two men worked together at a tattoo shop in Nampa. While at Strickland's home, the two men got in a fight. Strickland told police that the victim kicked him in the chest, and Strickland responded by stabbing the man.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was hospitalized but survived the incident.
