KUNA, Idaho — The Kuna Kaveman haven't reached the semi-finals since 1998 and although Vallivue has been in the playoffs both of the last year they had a drought of well over ten years before that.
However, the players on these teams have battled each other for years making both teams better in the process.
“In 8th grade we were undefeated and Kuna was undefeated so they brought us together and did a regional championship," said Terry Northcraft who's son plays center for Vallivue. "We were ahead 40-0 at halftime and Kuna beat us.”
In a thrilling game Vallivue held the lead 18-14 with minutes remaining, but one last drive orchestrated by Sean Austin with the quarterback calling his own number for a touchdown sealed the deal for Kuna.
Kuna will host Middleton next week in the 4A with a trip to the state championship on the line.
