MERIDIAN, Idaho — Nothing says summer quite like sunflowers, and you will have the chance to see lots of them. Linder Farms kicked off its 2020 Sunflower Festival over the weekend.
The Linder Farms Market opened up earlier this summer, but now the sunflowers have finally bloomed. Organizers say the festival is a way to say "thank you" to the Meridian community for their years of support. It is also an opportunity to take a break for those socially isolating themselves because of the pandemic.
"You know, we want to do something special and have an opportunity for the community to come out and enjoy a semi-rural area and sort of agricultural feeling and experience," said Randy Fesit, co-owner of Linder Farms.
Linder Farms has been taking COVID-19 precautions and is posting signs throughout the farm to remind people of social distancing rules. Wearing masks is encouraged as well and if you are feeling under the weather, you are asked to stay home.
The final Market Day for Linder Farms will be August 22.
