Local leaders go to jail for charity

Jailed of Charity

Treasure Valley business leaders, politicians and local celebrities get put behind bars.

Not because they are criminals, but rather for a good cause.  The jail time is part of a push to raise money or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Good Morning Idaho’s Steve Liebenthal spent Thursday afternoon locked up after the volunteer posse “arrested” participants.  They were then hauled to jail, which in this case was located in Barbacoa Restaurant.

The “bail money” to secure their release goes towards sending 40 local kids to MDA camp next month. "It’s a week long overnight camping program for kids with Muscular Dystrophy that takes place up in McCall in just a couple weeks and is just an awesome experience. So many kids call it the best week of the year." Said MDA Idaho Executive Director Autumn Hume.

Many of the 86 people arrested have not yet raised their goal of 2,000 dollars. If you would like to donate just visit the Idaho Muscular Dystrophy Association website.
