Chipotle closes nationwide for employee training

Chipotle restaurants nationwide locked their doors during their peak lunch hours Monday to address concerns over food safety.

The store closed after an E. Coli outbreak caused illnesses around the country in 2015.

Every store nationwide was closed from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. to train all employees on proper ways to handle and store certain foods.

The company says they'll be changing some of their protocol, to lower the chance of spreading food-bourne illnesses.

The company offered a burrito "raincheck" to customers who were forced to change their Monday lunch plans, by texting "raincheck" to 888-222, but the offer ended at 6:00 p.m. EST.
