BOISE, Idaho — The Boise State Broncos will head to the Fiesta Bowl on December 31.
Boise State Football is just days away from learning who their quarterfinal opponent will be for the 2024-25 college football playoff. I'm your neighborhood reporter Keith Burrell at Boise State where head coach Spencer Danielson met with the media to talk about the team's preparations for the Fiesta Bowl.
As we've reported the Broncos earned a first-round playoff bye after beating UNLV on the blue in the Mountain West Championship game but their opponent in the Fiesta Bowl is still up in the air. I asked Coach Danielson what it's like preparing for the bowl game not knowing if they'll be up against Penn State or Southern Methodist University
"We're going to find out who wins on Saturday," Coach Danielson said. "We're going to have preliminary game plans on both and a way to make sure the game plan doesn't get stale on either side. And, we're going to make sure our guys these first couple days, we're focused on Penn State. Here in a day we're going to flip the switch and we're going to focus on SMU so our guys are continually not losing that edge they have that they prep with because that's what's gotten us here."
We'll keep you updated as the opponent is determined on Saturday. Stay tuned for all of your Fiesta Bowl coverage needs right here on Idaho News 6.
