UPDATE (July 24, 9:14 pm): SH-55 has been reopened.
UPDATE (July 24, 6:39 pm): The wreckage from the vehicle that caught fire has been transported away from the scene. The roadway is still closed along SH-55 but it is expected to reopen shortly.
Black smoke is filling the air near the roadway in Avimor where a truck and trailer have caught fire. Now, traffic near the underpass construction on SH-55 is completely blocked in both directions.
The fire was reported at 2:59 pm on July 24. Fire crews are on the scene responding to the situation.
The vehicle fire has spread into the foothills as officials are arriving on the scene to fight the flames.
