Boise Mayor Dave Bieter is on a mission to Keep Boise Kind. The new initiative combines education, non-profit, corporate, and faith leaders to help ensure Boise remains kind and welcoming.

The announcement happened Tuesday at the Idaho Foodbank as a way to show off how a community needs to care for its neighbors. The mayor first proposed "Boise Kind" during his State of the City Address in September. The project will formally launch during Treefort Music Fest in March and will include physical and digital acts of kindness.

"This is not just a nice feel good initiative. This is something that actually gives us a competitive edge over some other cities, and all of the metrics that we could be number one at. Isn't it nice that Boise is number in this area of being kind," said Bill Connors, the president of the Boise Metro Chamber.

You can get immediately involved by capturing and sharing acts of kindness by using the hashtag #BoiseKind.
