McDonalds providing free meals for healthcare workers and first responders

BOISE, Idaho — McDonalds is offering free "Thank You Meals" for healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters and paramedics from April 22 to May 5. One meal can be received at participating locations and a valid identification is required.

Thank You Meals are available at no charge via drive thru or carryout at participating McDonald's restaurants. The meal will feature a choice of sandwiches, drinks and a side of french fries or a hash brown, along with a note of appreciation.

Healthcare workers or first responders can simply show their work badge to receive one of the below Thank You Meal options:

Breakfast
• A choice of an Egg McMuffin®, Chicken McGriddles® or a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Biscuit. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and a Hash Brown.
Lunch and Dinner
• A choice of a Double Cheeseburger, 6-Piece Chicken McNuggets® or a Filet-O-Fish® will be offered. All options come with any size soft drink, tea or hot coffee and small fries.

“As local business owners, we know that our communities need us now more than ever and we’re committed to continuing to serve them,” said Dick Darmody, a local owner/operator. “We are proud to be able support our neighbors who are on the frontlines as first responders and healthcare workers with Thank You Meals.” Darmody noted some McDonald’s owner/operators, including his organization, have offered first responders’ meals this month, “Expanding the outreach nationally, we hope to help even more of those on the frontlines.”

Customers can order food from McDonalds through the drive thru, carry out, McDelivery and mobile order and pay through the McDonalds app.
