BOISE, Ida. — There's a new Miss Idaho in town for 2019-20! Grace Zimmerman is stepping into the role, following in Nina Forest's footsteps.
Zimmerman, a 21-year-old University of Idaho student from Weiser, was originally named first runner-up after Rachel Forest was crowned Miss Idaho on June 8. Foster stepped down to pursue academic opportunities, opening the door for Zimmerman to step into the role.
Zimmerman held the local title of Miss Western Idaho before winning Miss Idaho. She will be deferring a year of her studies at the University of Idaho's College of Business and Economics to commit to her Miss Idaho duties. Zimmerman is a member of Delta Gamma and the Moscow Central Lions Club and is a volunteer with the Moscow Mentor Program.
Zimmerman will receive $7,000 in scholarship funds as Miss Idaho. A public celebration will also be held on her behalf. Zimmerman's focus throughout the year will be on 'Wholesome Health,' as she attends community events and makes appearances during the year. She will also spend the summer preparing for the Miss America Competition.
