MERIDIAN — UPDATE: A Meridian man accused of murdering his wife is being held on a $2 million bond.
Eric Steiner, 42, made his initial court appearance in Ada County Wednesday afternoon.
Report say Steiner surrendered to police officers about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday at his north Meridian home after he reportedly admitted to killing his wife.
When officers responded to the man's home in the 500 block of East Chateau Drive, they found a woman dead in the bathroom.
Ada County Coroner Dotti Owens has identified the victim as 41-year-old Christine Steiner. The cause of death was listed as a gunshot wound to the head.
In court Wednesday, Ada County Prosecutor Brett Judd said Steiner had made suicidal comments to authorities,
Steiner's preliminary hearing has been set for March 18th.
This is the second domestic killing in Meridian so far this year.

Meridian Police are investigating a domestic homicide in the 500 block of E. Chateau in Meridian. Meridian Police officers arrived at a house around 9:15 Tuesday nighter after 42-year-old Eric James Steiner contacted Ada County Dispatch saying he had killed his wife.
Steiner surrendered without incident when officers arrived on scene. Two kids were in the home at the time, a 17-year-old female and a four-year-old boy. They were uninjured. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female deceased in a bathroom from an apparent gunshot wound.
Steiner was booked into the Ada County Jail for First Degree Murder. The victim's identity will be released by the Ada County Coroner's Office after the autopsy later today.
