Police are investigating a Saturday morning shooting at Kleiner Park in Meridian, according to a news release from the Meridian Police Department.

Officers were sent about 5:18 a.m. to a home in the 3800 block of Tahiti Court, where a woman in her 50s told officers she had been shot while exercising at the park.

The woman said she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen while exercising and told police she did not hear or see anything at the time. She walked home to look at her injury and discovered it was a gunshot wound.

The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she underwent surgery. She was in stable condition.

Police are asking anyone in or around Kleiner Park between 5 and 5:30 a.m. Saturday to contact the Meridian Police Department at 208-888-6678. Callers can remain anonymous and could earn a reward up to $1,000 if their tip leads to a felony arrest.
