A Meridian woman was charged with murder after her infant died from his injuries four days after being hospitalized.

Police were called by paramedics to a home Monday on the 2000 block of North Swainson Avenue. The EMTs were dispatched to the home around 1 p.m. for 2-month-old Dawson J. McKinney, who was unresponsive when they arrived. The EMTs decided to alert police, according to Meridian City officers.

The mother, Danielle Radue, 26, was arrested on May 11 with one count felony injury to a child. She made bail and was released, according to Meridian Public Information Officer Stephany Galbreaith.

Four days later, around 6 p.m. Friday, the boy died from traumatic closed head injuries, according to the Ada County Coroners Office. The manner of death is still pending further studies and agency reports.

Hours after the boy’s death, officers executed a warrant and re-arrested Radue. She was subsequently charged with one count of felony first-degree murder.

Radue is being held on $1 million bail at Ada County Jail. The case is still under investigation by Meridian Police.

Radue appeared before a judge on May 18 and her next court appearance is set for May 29.
