MERIDIAN, Idaho — Meridan is already getting into the holiday spirit!

A 60 foot tall Blue spruce tree now adorns Generations Plaza in downtown Meridian as the city's official holiday tree.

It was donated by William and Roberta Ross, who live off Cherry Ln.

The tree was cut down and transported across town to its new home by a flatbed truck and a police escort.

Crews will now string almost two miles of lights (that's about 25.000 lights, by the way) on the tree over the next few weeks.

The official lighting ceremony will be on Friday, December 6 following the city's annual Winter Lights parade.
