BOISE, Ida. — Bogus Basin is celebrating the kickoff of summer. Now open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., the nonprofit recreation area is getting ready for a big 4th of July weekend by bringing back its popular Music on the Mountain concert series.
The free concert series, sponsored by 10 Barrel Brewing Co., launches Saturday, July 6, and will feature free live music in the Simplot Base Area throughout the day. Five music Saturdays are planned over the summer.
“We are ready for a great 4th of July weekend at Bogus Basin,” said General Manager Brad Wilson. “Right now, the wildflowers are in full bloom, and mountain temperatures are fantastic. It’s a great time to come up and enjoy everything that the mountain has to offer.”
Saturday’s music lineup features three bands: Gipsy Moonrise and Lucid Aisle from Boise and Seattle, Washington's Bodies on the Beach. All three bands were featured at this year’s Treefort Music Festival.
The live music will play in the Simplot Base area from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A variety of food and beverage options will be available in the base area, including the Double R Ranch BBQ Smokehouse, and from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. (while supplies last), volunteers from Albertsons will hand out free fresh fruit.
Last year marked Bogus Basin’s first year of seven-day-a-week summer operations. An estimated 100,000 guests visited the area to take advantage of its growing ranges of offerings. A new hit this summer is free yoga. Classes are taught by instructors from Shine Yoga Collective and are held on the Simplot Base Area Lawn every Wednesday (6:00 p.m.) and Sunday (10:00 a.m.).
