Nampa man charged with murder after police say he shot his brother

NAMPA, Idaho — The Nampa Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened on October 18 around 6:24 p.m. A news release said officers responded to a home on the 2000 block of Railroad Street in Nampa, relating to a shooting.

Initial information shows the incident took place inside the home, resulting in shots being fired and hitting 38-year-old Jonathan Dallas, according to the release. Police say they found there was an altercation between two brothers, ultimately leading to the shooting of Dallas.

When police arrived, 33-year-old Jeremiah Nupen, of Nampa, was on scene. The release says after questioning witnesses and those involved, Nupen was arrested and charged with Murder in the Second Degree. He was taken to the Canyon County Jail and booked on the above charge.

Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no more information at this time.
