Posted

A Nampa man has died following a crash on eastbound I-84 at milepost 28 in Caldwell.

According to Idaho State Police, Guy Issac, 57, of Nampa was traveling eastbound on I-84 in a Chevrolet Silverado when cargo from the back of the pickup fell onto the roadway.

Issac stopped his truck to clear debris from the roadway which caused traffic to back up in both directions.

Heather Lott, 36, of Caldwell, was eastbound on I-84 in a 2010 Ford Edge in the left lane of travel when she saw traffic braking in front of her.

Lott steered into the right lane and onto the right shoulder to avoid a collision with other vehicles and struck Issac who died from the impact.

The right lane of I-84 and the I-84 onramp were blocked for approximately two-and-a-half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
