CALDWELL, Idaho — A Nampa man was sentenced to prison Monday for the felony crime of Lewd Conduct with a Minor under Sixteen. Kevin James Adler Jr., 37, was sentenced by Judge Gene A. Petty to 10 years fixed time, followed by 35 years indeterminate for a total of 45 years in prison.

Petty also ordered Adler Jr. to register as a sex offender, submit a DNA sample ot the Idaho database and have no contact with the victim or any minor children for 50 years. Adler Jr. was also ordered to pay a $5,000 civil penalty to the victim.

Adler Jr. was served with a felony warrant in April 2019 while being housed in the Ada County Jail on separate charges related to child pornography. The case was referred to the Nampa Police Department after investigators found test messages on Adler's phone that referenced a sexual encounter with a young girl several years ago. Nampa investigators determined Adler Jr. had molested a six-year-old girl while staying in a Nampa apartment complex in 2012.

“Mr. Adler used his position of trust to molest an innocent young girl, and he continues to be a danger to our community,” said Prosecutor Bryan Taylor. “There is no doubt that he belongs in prison for a long, long time.
