The Nampa Police Department has announced that two designated parking spaces at the station will be used for the safe exchange of Craigslist items and e-commerce sales.

“We have designated two parking spaces in the front parking lot that have 24-hour video surveillance for our citizens to use for safer transactions from websites like Craigslist,” said Chief Joe Huff.

Nampa Police hopes that this will create a safe space for sales of merchandise.

“We remind citizens to use caution when making arrangements from online websites. Daytime transactions are recommended so that there are more people around,” Huff said. “This is another service the Nampa Police Department provides to help make our citizens feel safer when making these types of transactions.”

Police departments around the country have been creating these zones in the last several years including Meridian, which opened their safe zone in April.
