Posted

Nampa Police Department investigators are looking for a young woman in relation to a credit card theft and fraud.

According to Police spokesman Sgt. Tim Riha, a woman had finished shopping at the Walmart store near the Idaho Center Tuesday about 10:30 p.m., had unloaded her purchases into her vehicle, and accidentally left her wallet in the shopping cart.

“When she went back a few minutes later to retrieve it, the wallet was gone,” Riha said.

Police soon learned the victim’s card was used at an ATM at a Caldwell convenience store. “Three-hundred dollars was withdrawn from the victim’s account in two sepertate transactions,” Riha added.

The suspect was captured on a surveillance camera. She appears to be a woman in her twenties.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the suspect or has any information about the theft, to call the Nampa Police Department’s non-emergency dispatch line at 465-2257.
