NAMPA, Idaho — He and his incident are known to some as "The Miracle on 4th Street." On December 16, 2010, Nampa Police Officer John Parsons responded to a call that nearly killed him.

Corporal Parsons was shot in the face while serving a fugitive arrest warrant.

"I just remember hearing the gunshot. I remember hearing the flash from the gun in the back bedroom down the hallway," said Corporal Parsons.

While grateful to be alive and with his loved ones, the memories of that day still have an impact, even ten years later.

"You know there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think about it, but definitely, on December 16, it brings back a lot more emotion," said Corporal Parsons.

Corporal Parsons is still with the Nampa Police Department, working as a student resource officer and a tactical response team member.

Idaho News 6 will have more on Corporal Parson's story tonight at 5.
