MERIDIAN, Idaho — Wahooz Family Fun Zone in Meridian served more than 160 people with free boxed lunches Monday, part of the company’s community effort to help those who are struggling with hardships created by the Coronavirus crisis.

The recipients drove through the Wahooz parking lot to pick up the free boxed lunches from noon to 1 p.m.

“Last week, online sign-ups reached their limit of 1,200 lunches in less than two hours,” said Wahooz Marketing Officer Tiffany Quilici.

Wahooz employees will continue to distribute lunches from noon to 1 p.m. each day through this Friday.

“The dramatic response to our offer of free lunches has shown us how much need there is among Treasure Valley families for even just one free meal. We are happy not only to help feed some families, but also to keep some of our kitchen staff busy making free lunches,” Quilici added.

The effort is a partnership with Wahooz and Hello Meridian for Community over Corona Challenge.
