An Owyhee County man remains in serious condition at a Boise hospital following an accident earlier this week in which he was pinned under his tractor.
Reports say Larry Dixon, 45, was apparently driving his tractor down a slope Tuesday when it rolled. He was thrown off the tractor and it rolled on top of him.
It happened in a field in Marsing, near Highway 78.
“We don’t know exactly how long he was pinned under the tractor, but it could have been most of the day,” said Owyhee County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Lynn Bowman. “He was last seen about eleven (Tuesday) morning. When he didn’t come home (later in the day), his wife began wondering where he was and contacted a co-worker on the farm. The co-worker found him about 7 p.m.”
The Owyhee County Sheriff’s Department deputies were then dispatched to the scene.
Bowman said Dixon does not remember much about specifics of the accident.
Marsing Fire Department rescue crews helped extricate Dixon from under the tractor, Bowman said.
Dixon was then airlifted to a hospital in Boise.
