MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho — A new memorial dedicated to veterans in front of the Mountain Home Courthouse is set to be unveiled on July 4. Elmore County Veteran Service Officer Traci Colton, with help from the Elmore County Commissioners, raised money, designed and purchased to monument pictured above to honor servicemen and women of the past, present and future. Boise Valley Monument designed the memorial.

The memorial was going to be unveiled on Memorial Day but was rescheduled due to COVID-19. On July 4, the Air Force Commander is scheduled to attend the unveiling and speak. The Honor Guard will play TAPS/COLORS, and there will be a flyover.

Colton said the military community is significant to the community, and they would like to honor them in the best possible way.
