Boise New Year's prep

There are just two days left of 2015, and this year the Idaho Potato Drop is ringing in the new year in a new location, near the statehouse. In addition to the new location, the 3rd annual Potato Drop will feature a fireworks display by Super 8, a full lineup of musicians and free Uber rides for new users. VIP ticketholders will get a $40 Uber credit along with a gift bag.  

In preparation for the 2016 celebration, the Boise Police Department has released a traffic advisory. The following road closures are: 

Wednesday, December 30th - 10 a.m. 

-Jefferson Street from 6th to 8th streets

-Capitol Boulevard (in both directions) between Bannock and Jefferson streets

These roads will re-open at 7 a.m. on Saturday, January 2nd. 

Thursday, December 31st - 10 a.m. 

-Bannock Street from 6th to 8th streets

-Capitol Boulevard between Idaho and Bannock streets

These roads will re-open at 7 a.m. on Friday, January 1st. 

Thursday, December 31st - 5 p.m. 

-West lane of 6th street between Jefferson and Bannock streets

This lane will re-open at 7 a.m. on Friday, January 1st
