NAMPA — Northwest Nazarene University introduces a new certificate program for everyone in the community, specifically designed to get more women into leadership positions.
The Women in Leadership online certificate program, led entirely by women, talks about identifying mentors, dealing with bias, and ways to balance expectations and priorities.
Each of the four courses in the series covers one of those different topics and offers videos and discussion boards to see it in action. NNU says the goal isn't to bring anyone down to get to the top; it's to create a more positive and successful work environment.
“Research shows a diverse company has a more flexible benefits package, they produce more, they’re more efficient, they just work better together, and that’s what we’d like to see," said psychologist and program instructor Dr. Elizabeth List.
Female NNU professors or business professionals instruct all four courses. Each course lasts five to six weeks, and it's entirely online
The program is considered a continuing education credit, and it’s open to everyone in the community, not just NNU students.
