BOISE — Every winter people bring their dogs down to Ann Morrison park and let them run free, the park is an off leash dog area from November 1 - February 28.
However, soon dog owners will have a permanent place of their own to take their four legged friends in one of Boise's most popular parks.
Dog island will be a little more than five acres in a fenced off area that will feature benches, garbage cans, and a picnic shelter.
The Boise Parks and Recreation Department is currently working on a water improvement project on the pond that will create a natural boundary for dog island.
This pond has never been dredged before and the dog park is expected to open sometime this spring.
