SUN VALLEY, Idaho — Due to the rapidly escalating Coronavirus concerns, the Sun Valley Film Festival organizers announced Thursday that they are now cancelling the Festival, originally scheduled for March 18-22.

“We are actively supporting the global and local effort to combat this pandemic by cancelling this year’s Festival,” stated Festival Executive Director Teddy Grennan. “The health and safety of our community and all of our participants is our top priority, and we know this is the right and responsible decision.”

The Festival will celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2021.

With over $5 million dollars of economic impact to the community, this was not a decision that was made lightly, but ultimately the protection of public health and safety of the community is paramount, according to a SVFF news release.

“The Festival is actively working through logistics created by this unprecedented situation and will communicate next steps with its supporters, partners, pass and ticketholders as soon as possible,” the release said.
